In 2013, Beth Rubin took over “Felix’s Caketeria” from Felix Papadakis who is now pursuing new adventures in New York. Beth is a seasoned pastry chef of 25 years, having worked for Annie B’s and Felix’s Caketeria for the last 12 years. She is excited to continue the tradition of excellent customer service creating scrumptious cupcakes, custom wedding cakes and specialty cakes you have come to expect.
“We make delicious cakes using artisan ingredients. Our butter-cream is heavenly. Our fillings are second to none…and every layer gets a coating of flavored syrups to ensure moistness….the cakes literally melt in your mouth.” And as far as decorating goes, we concentrate on the celebration cakes which customers flock to her for…… “Fondant on top of buttercream in a variety of shapes and sizes….the cakes are playful and whimsical and exactly what a birthday or celebration cake should be!”
In addition to custom cakes, which are available for order, there is a selection of bars and brownies, cookies, 6-inch and 8-inch celebration cakes as well as cheesecakes and cupcakes galore! Her favorite flavor? The Elvis Cupcake…..a banana cupcake with a peanut butter butter cream and dipped in chocolate ganache….so divine!
Another cupcake bakery you might think? Well think again. “The thing about cupcakes is that they are little bites of cake really, and with the fillings and frostings you can take one cupcake and make it into a variety of flavors…..a yellow cake cupcake is case in point….it serves as the basis for the Boston Cream cupcake and the Coconut Pineapple cupcake….filling the cupcakes is really what separates us……and the fillings should compliment both the icing and cupcake itself.”
Flavors? Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Cupcakes with cocktail peanut garnish…Red Velvet Cupcakes, a Southern favorite…..Carrot Cake Cupcakes or even Salty Chocolate Caramel! Beth’s creative mind knows no limits so come one come all!
